By accessing or using the services, programs, resources, or website of AVCF (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree, you may not use our Services.

2. Mission and Scope of Services

AVCF is a Texas-based non-profit advocacy organization providing victim support services, including:

  • Financial assistance

  • Legal assistance referrals and advocacy

  • Grief counseling and emotional support

Services are provided for advocacy, educational, and supportive purposes and are not guaranteed.

3. Eligibility and Availability

Eligibility for Services may depend on funding availability, residency, nature of victimization, documentation, or program guidelines. We reserve the right to approve, deny, limit, or discontinue Services at our discretion.

4. Financial Assistance

  • Financial assistance is not an entitlement and is subject to the availability of funding.

  • Approved funds must be used solely for their designated purpose.

  • Providing false information or misuse of funds may result in termination of Services and possible recovery of funds.

5. Legal Assistance Disclaimer

  • AVCF is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice unless expressly stated and delivered by a licensed Texas attorney.

  • Legal assistance may include referrals, advocacy, accompaniment, and general legal information.

  • No attorney-client relationship is created unless confirmed in writing.

6. Grief Counseling and Emotional Support Disclaimer

  • Counseling and emotional support services are provided on a supportive, pastoral, and advocacy-based basis unless otherwise stated.

  • These services do not replace licensed mental health or medical care.

  • If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, contact 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

7. Confidentiality and Mandatory Reporting

We strive to maintain confidentiality; however, under Texas law, confidentiality may be limited in cases involving:

  • Abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or disabled individual

  • Threats of harm to self or others

  • Court orders or legal obligations

8. No Guarantee of Outcome

We do not guarantee outcomes related to financial relief, legal proceedings, or emotional recovery. Advocacy does not ensure specific results.

9. Third-Party Referrals

We may refer individuals to third-party professionals or organizations. We are not responsible for their actions, services, or advice.

10. Donations

  • Donations are voluntary and generally non-refundable.

  • Funds are used in furtherance of our charitable mission.

  • IRS regulations determine tax deductibility; consult a tax advisor.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Texas law, AVCF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our Services.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AVCF from claims arising from misuse of Services or violation of these Terms.

13. Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue Services or these Terms at any time.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and venue for any dispute shall lie in the appropriate Texas state or federal court.
